friends?

let’s be friends
assume we’ve
already met,
share false secrets
so long as we smile
and avoid any regrets.
let’s be pals,
lie on my laps and let
me stroke your hair,
let’s light a bonfire
and tell of imaginary adventures.
let’s be friends,
for at least today
till tomorrow comes,
watch yesterday
slither away into history,
till dusk fades into the horizon,
let’s be friends.

The 99% Club

One day, the King came upon a servant who was singing happily while he worked. This fascinated the King. Why was he, the Supreme Ruler of the Land, unhappy and gloomy, while a lowly servant had so much joy? The King asked the servant, "Why are you so happy?" The man replied, " Your Majesty, I am nothing but a servant, but my family and I don't need too much - just a roof over our heads and warm food to fill our tummies."
